Privacy policy

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are sent to our inbox by email and nowhere else. They are not written to a database, added to a list, or passed to any other party.

We use that email address to reply to you and for nothing else. Messages stay in the inbox for as long as the correspondence is useful and are deleted when it is not.

The form includes two anti-spam measures worth disclosing because they involve your browser: a hidden field that only automated submissions fill in, and a timestamp recording when the page loaded, used to reject submissions made in milliseconds. It also applies a per-address submission limit. None of that is stored beyond the request, and none of it is used for tracking.

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and which links are clicked. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information including your approximate location, device and browser, the pages you view, and the referring site.

We look at that in aggregate - which guides get read, which buy links get clicked - and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors. We do record one custom event: when a product link is clicked, we log which merchant and which product, so we can tell which recommendations are useful. That event carries no personal information.

Google handling of the data it receives is governed by the Google privacy policy. You can prevent Google Analytics entirely with the Google opt-out browser add-on, a tracker-blocking extension, or by blocking cookies for this site. Nothing here stops working if you do: the analytics code is written to fail silently.

Perch & Posture participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a product link here you pass through a redirect on this domain and then arrive at Amazon with a tag identifying us as the referrer.

Amazon sets its own cookies at that point, which is how a commission is attributed if you buy something. That cookie belongs to Amazon, not to us. We do not read it, and we never see who you are or what you bought. What we receive is an aggregate earnings report with no customer identities in it.

The redirect on our side is stateless: it works out the destination, adds the tag, and sends you on. It does not set a cookie, log your address, or record anything about you.

This site is hosted on Vercel, which like any web host receives the network requests needed to serve a page and keeps standard operational logs. We do not query those logs to identify visitors.

Product photographs are served from the Amazon image CDN rather than copied onto this site, which means your browser requests them from Amazon directly and Amazon can see that request. That is a deliberate trade: hotlinking the retailer own image is how we guarantee the picture matches the product currently on sale.

Fonts are self-hosted. The typeface here is served from this domain rather than a font CDN, so no third party is notified when you load a page in order to render text.

This site is written for adults buying office seating and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us a message through the contact form, email us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes, for example if we ever add another affiliate program or change analytics provider, we will update this page and its date. We will not add a data practice and leave the policy describing the old one.
