Who writes this

Sawyer V.. An enthusiast who is genuinely into this: I read the manuals, compile the published specs and do the arithmetic. No lab coat, no test rig.

That is the whole bio, and it is deliberately short. I am not an ergonomist, I am not a clinician, and I have no credential in this field. What I have is an interest in getting the numbers right and a low tolerance for product copy that sounds specific without being checkable.

You will not find "a long-time enthusiast" or "years of experience" anywhere on this site, and that is not modesty - it is that those claims would be untrue and are the easiest kind of claim to falsify. What is true is that I read the manuals, compile the published specs, and do the arithmetic.

Why the site exists

Because the seating category has a specific, fixable problem: almost nobody publishes the figures that decide whether a product fits you, and almost everybody writes as though they had.

Here is the concrete version. The most-searched office chair in this category publishes a weight capacity, a warranty, a static load test and a recommended user-height window - and no seat-height range. A stool sold with "standing desk" in its title tops out at 24 inches, which suits a dining table. Published seat-height ceilings across products sold for the same purpose run from 24 inches to 34.6, and the marketing copy does not distinguish them.

Meanwhile the fit question has an answer. Popliteal height, buttock-popliteal length and sitting elbow-rest height are published anthropometric measurements. A seat height is your leg length plus your shoes. A maximum seat depth is your thigh length minus clearance. A stool for a standing desk is your desk height minus your seated elbow height. None of that is difficult - it is just arithmetic nobody was doing.

So that is what this site does. 52 pages of it, built on one published method and one cited table.

What we do

Compile every figure a manufacturer publishes, per product, with the listing linked as the source.
Name every figure they do not. This turns out to be the most useful paragraph on a lot of pages.
Compute the fit from a named percentile table, with the arithmetic shown so you can redo it.
Rank on a published rubric, with the per-criterion breakdown on every pick and the weighting stated per page.
Show live prices only, dated, expiring after 48 hours rather than going stale.
State what is wrong with every pick. It is a required field, not an editorial habit.

What we do not do

We have not sat in a single product on this site. Not one. Every figure here is read from a published specification with the source cited.

Which means there is a real list of things we cannot tell you: all-day comfort, foam breakdown over months, build quality and rattle, assembly difficulty, caster behavior on carpet, noise, and whether a seat that fits on paper feels right to your body. That list is published in full on the methodology page rather than left for you to discover.

Publishers who own the units can answer all of it. If those factors decide your purchase, read them too - we would rather point you at a competitor than pretend.

No medical advice. There is no clinician here and nothing is medically reviewed. The back-pain and sciatica pages describe mechanism and stop.
No invented figures. No specs, prices, ratings or review counts we cannot cite.
No testimonials, and no rating for ourselves. This brand launched in 2026 and has no customer base. Inventing one would be the easiest thing on this list to do and the fastest way to deserve nothing.
No desks, keyboards, monitors or walking pads. This is a seating site. Desk lighting goes to a sister property, linked in the footer.

If a figure on this site is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source and fix it - with the correction dated and visible on the page rather than quietly edited. That is the policy, and a site whose entire claim is "check our arithmetic" does not get to be precious about being checked.
