What this site is, what it is not, and what you can reasonably expect of it. Using the site means accepting these terms.

The short version
Perch & Posture is an independent publisher. We sell nothing, hold no stock, and are not party to any purchase you make. The information here is compiled from manufacturers published specifications and our own arithmetic, it is not professional advice of any kind, and specifications and prices change without us knowing.
Check anything that matters against the manufacturer and the retailer before you buy. We would rather you did.
What the information here is
Every specification on this site is copied from the manufacturer own published documentation, with the source linked on the page. Every fit figure is computed from a named published anthropometric table, with the arithmetic shown. Every price comes from a live lookup and carries the date it was verified.
We have not tested any product on this site. That is stated on the homepage, on the methodology page and on every commercial page, and it is a term of use as much as an editorial position: a recommendation here is based on published documentation and arithmetic, not on first-hand experience of the product.
We take reasonable care to copy figures accurately and to show our working so you can check it. We do not warrant that every figure is correct, current, or that a manufacturer published figure is itself accurate. Manufacturers revise specifications, relabel models and change suppliers without notice.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice. There is no clinician here and nothing is medically reviewed. Pages about back pain, sciatica, knee pressure and posture describe what a seat does mechanically - where it puts your pelvis, how load distributes across a seat pan, what published angles are - and nothing more.
No product described here is a treatment for any condition. If you have persistent or worsening pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, or any symptom that concerns you, consult a qualified clinician. Do not use this site in place of that, and do not read a recommendation here as a suggestion to delay it.
Nothing here is occupational health, ergonomics consulting, legal or safety advice either. If you are specifying seating for a workplace or responding to a workplace assessment, that needs a qualified professional who can see the actual setting.
Purchases are between you and the retailer
- We sell nothing. There is no store, no checkout, and no order we can see. Product links take you to a third-party retailer, and any transaction is governed by that retailer terms.
- We cannot help with an order. Returns, refunds, delivery, damage and warranty claims are between you and the retailer or manufacturer. We have no access to your order.
- Prices, stock and shipping are not ours. We display a price as it was at the moment of a lookup, dated. It can change or be wrong by the time you click. What you pay is whatever the retailer charges at checkout.
- We earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through links here, at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure.
Fit figures and how to use them
The fit arithmetic on this site is computed from published population percentile data. It is a well-founded estimate for a body of your height and it is not a measurement of you. Two people the same height genuinely differ in leg-to-torso proportion, which is why the tables give a range rather than a number and why every guide tells you how to measure your own.
Use the figures to shortlist and to rule things out. Verify against your own measurements, and against the manufacturer current specification, before you buy. A chair that fits on paper can still be the wrong chair for you, and that is a limit of the method rather than a failure of it.
Third-party links and content
We link to retailers, manufacturers, standards bodies and government agencies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific point it is cited for.
Product photographs are served from the retailer own image CDN so that the image always matches the listing. Those images remain the property of their owners.
Our content
The text, structure, scoring rubric, fit computations and page design on this site are ours, and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read, print and share pages, and to quote a short extract with attribution and a link.
Please do not republish substantial portions, scrape the site to build a competing product database, or present our scores or fit tables as your own. If you want to cite the method or reproduce a table properly, ask - the answer is usually yes.
Brand names, product names and trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. No affiliation or endorsement is implied, with one relationship declared in our editorial policy.
Limits of liability
This site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Perch & Posture and Fathom & Foundry are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on information here, including any purchase decision, any discrepancy in a published specification or price, or any outcome relating to your health or comfort.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes, and how to reach us
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the last change, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the updated terms.
This site is written for a United States audience, in US English, with US retail pricing.
